The 20 Something Society

We're going to make it after all.

I am shooting a wedding and rehearsal dinner this weekend, and today I decided to go ahead and get together what I’ll be wearing.  And THEN I thought I’d share.  Most of the time the only people who ask ‘What do you wear when you photograph a wedding?’ is a new photographer gearing up to shoot their first wedding.  But whatever.

Seems like this weekend will include a lot of black.  Honestly thats pretty normal when I’m photographing a wedding, not necessarily black, but neutrals.  I want to be unobstructive and stealthy, like a ninja.  If I’m wearing a bright red sweater, I might be just a bit distracting.

Both days I am wearing black pants.  I prefer the slim cropped pants from The Gap.  In fact, those are the only pants I own.

Friday night I am pairing them with this black sheer sleeveless hi-low top and a shirt sleeved black tee underneath.  The back of the shirt is pleated.  I’m throwing my turquoise ring with it and my beaded minnetonkas.

Saturday I will throw on this striped sweater, with another light blue ring and some blue flats with a studded bow on top.  The flats with the slim cropped pants look very Audrey Hepburn.

Here is a shot of the back pleats (this shirt is new at Target).

I bought both of these rings in New Orleans.  The first on our honeymoon, and the second last January.  We are watching the New Orleans episode of The Layover right now as I type this post, and for the who knows how many-enth time I am thinking ‘Can I please move to New Orleans?’

The stripe sweater looks totally boring on the hanger, so I wanted to get some single shots.  It is not a simple cardigan.  There is a seam straight down the middle that I love, and it is a dolman sleeve with a slouchy cowly neck that shows off my neckline and collar bones, which is a favorite feature of my own.

So there ya go.  thats what I wear to photograph a wedding.  AND a black waist apron to carry all of my batteries and memory cards.

Here is another one from The Clothesline. This was just a trip to ye olde grocery store. I am the type of person who gets dressed to go everywhere. You never know who you may run into!

I kept the itchy eye shot in, because I thought I looked like a nerd and it was funny.  Also, this picture made me remember why I don’t like my hair longer on one side, and I think I’ll go trim that side down this week.

I found this floral velvet blazer at a thrift shop in New Orleans, if I am remembering correctly.

Are you guys sick of this hat yet?  It is my favorite hat so I wear it quite often.  It came from the mens section of Target.  I originally bought it for Todd as part of his Halloween costume I think 3.5 years ago.  He was Humbert Humbert.

Here is what I wore on New Years Eve – My new leopard print shoes – Silky skirt from the Gap – sweater from JCrew.  I LOVE the color of this sweater – especially matched with a red orange or coral.

I haven’t done one of these in a long time.  This is from a week or so ago before I cut my hair but after I picked up my new glasses.  We were just going out to run errands or something.
