This is something I try to tell my husband and sister-in-law ALL THE TIME! My husband will refuse to shave for long periods of time – especially in the winter. And he doesn’t have that facial hair that grows out all nice and even either. He won’t even keep it trimmed! He will go in to work looking like a hobo face!!! I am constantly telling him that in his field, he never knows who he is going to be meeting when he goes in to work – someone that he may be trying to work with in the future, a news crew to interview him and air on television, a photographer popping in to photograph him for some article- and he STILL goes all hobo face!!!
My sis-in-law is still in college and I can’t be too harsh about going out in comfier clothes – but I still tell her the same thing – whether she rolls her eyes at me or not! She may be meeting a future employer too! Or a boyfriend or husband or something sheesh!
Sure I get made fun of for dressing to go to the grocery store, or (like today) vacuum my car, but I don’t care! I look good.
