I was just admiring my favorite mugshot this evening….
…Awesome….when I decided to look up some more vintage mugshots.
I stumbled upon many pictures from a book called City Of Shadows: Sydney Police Photographs 1912-1948. There were some beautiful photographs, I think these vintage mugshots have inspired me to do some like them for some of my portrait sessions.
This one was in my saved materials, I dont remember where it came from but I also find this one beautiful.
P.S. I once wrote a paper in college on photography in the criminal justice system, much of which was on the beginnings of mug shots, the rogue galleries!
