Back From The Beach.
We went on a little trip this past weekend. We (Jacquelyn Jackson Photography) had a wedding to shoot in Gulf Shores, Alabama. We left friday so we could be there for the rehearsal. I prefer to be there just so I can be extra prepared on the wedding day. My mom and step dad live in Gulf Shores so we didn’t have to pay for a hotel or condo – we just stayed with them! Klaus loves to stay with them so he can play with their dog, Bailey. The car ride there didn’t seem too bad. When we go on road trips we have this little deal. We listen to my music half the trip and for the other half we listen to podcasts of Lex and Terrys radio morning show. We used to get them in our hometown, but they aren’t in our current town so The Husband downloads all of their shows and listens to them. They are hysterical and the only morning radio show I would ever listen to.

And yes people, there was oil on the beaches and you could smell it in the air. It smelled like someone was burning tires. Here is my mom trying to “catch” oil.
I stole these pictures from a friend of mine who was also staying in Gulf Shores this past weekend.

Due to the oil and rain the on the beach wedding ended up having to be moved to an indoor plan B venue. I so wanted to shoot some white sand!
In between editing pictures from our last wedding and getting ready for this weekends wedding we HAD to get some good eats in right?
For lunch? DOCS! Its where the locals go…so much better than some touristy place.

My favorite thing on the menu? Fried stuffed crab, grilled shrimp, and hushpuppies of course!
On to the wedding…

And after the wedding? Late night pizza dinner from Papa Roccos! My uncle D used to work there many a moon ago.
Alas, the trip/visit was over. We were on our way back home. We did make a stop to pick up the sister in law. Shes going to stay with us for a couple of weeks. The Husband starts is prelims today for entry into the PHD program, so he was studying the whole weekend..and even the car ride home. He was glad his sister was there in the car to go over flash cards with him – she knows the math jargon. Me…not so much.

And that concludes our broadcast this morning.
