We finished priming the study today, and tried out our sample colors.
The one on the left is Valspar – Simply Seafoam and the one on the right is Soft Jade, but I can’t remember if it is Martha Stewart or Seaside Retreats!
We chose (drumroll please)………..
Simply Seafoam! We are planning on painting tomorrow night.
We’re starting to tackle the study! Well, painting it anyway. My mother in law and sister in law are coming to stay with us next weekend, so we wanted to get one more room painted. This morning we spackled.

We are planning on adding a master bath/closet to our house…one day. I’m hoping for sometime next year whereas my husband is not so much into making plans. He’s more the “It’s not going to be anytime soon” kinda guy. I, on the other hand, have been saving tons of inspiration pictures for decor and layout. I do know one thing for sure about this maybe one day bathroom. There will be no shower curtain. I really hate shower curtains. They make me paranoid and claustrophobic. We dont have to have a tub at all , as long as I have my shower curtainless shower. Here are some of my inspiration saves.

Right now I’m really leaning towards something like this, but instead of a bench in the back having a tub. Awesomeness.
Our house had absolutely no lighting in the back and that just doesnt work for me. We had Mr.Electric come out today and give us some quotes for two flood lights, a back porch light, and another electrical socket in the kitchen. He installed the two flood lights, but we’ll have to save the rest for another day….when we have more monetary funds.
YaY for new floodlights!
When I arrived to the door to go back inside, our baby puppy was anxiously awaiting. Just look at that little wet nose against the door!

When we arrived back home from our Birmingham wedding in the wee hours of Sunday morning, we had just missed a storm and discovered a huge fallen limb taking up our whole front yard. The next morning the husband promptly took a trip to our local Lowes where he purchased some work gloves, a hatchet, and a hacksaw.

He was successful in getting all the smaller limbs off of the big limb, but when he came to getting the biggest part down we realized we needed a chainsaw. Luckily our neighbor from across the street witnessed our struggles and came to the rescue with his chainsaw and his chainsaw skills.
We have a chestnut tree in our backyard, upon hearing this news I exclaimed “We can roast chestnuts for Christmas, YaY!” I have never eaten one so I hope they are tasty.
They fall of the tree in this prickly green balls that hurt if you step on them. I myself never tend to walk around outside with no shoes on, but theres something wrong with my husband.
The nuts.

This whole “good nut, bad nut” thing made me think of Veruca Salt and Willy Wonka and the Chocolate Factory. Apparently, if the nut floats, its bad.
We are shower people, we don’t like to soak in the tub. When we moved into the house the shower head was acting wonky and spraying in all different directions. My husband did some research and came to the conclusion that the diverter was broken. We decided to remedy the wonky shower problem this afternoon. Well, lets be honest, I supervised….a little.
We bought and installed a new faucet and shower head. Nothing fancy, just not wonky.
One day, you step outside and realize that suddenly the grass is growing over your shoes. Its time to MOW THE LAWN!
We went to our local Lowes and bought our first lawn mower- a Troybilt push mower. The husband took a “personal day” to mow the lawn today and exclaimed “Its not that bad!” .
Klaus was very nervous and watched his pop pop the whole time. It was cute.
When we moved in the bedroom we are using as our master was a bright peach. Believe me, this picture doesnt do it justice.
Last night we painted the room Valspar – Honeysweet.
I want our bedroom to be calm and neutral and I think this color does the trick. I hope when all is said and done our bedroom will look as dreamy as this one.
