After eating our turkey today, the husband went to call his Aunt and I flipped through the channels and landed on Rupauls Drag Race, which I had never watched before. I just turned it on and started surfing the interwebs. I wasn’t really paying any attention and then I heard this voice. I look up and sure enough it is Santino Rice from Project Runway. His voice immediately made me smile and youtube these Santino Rice as Tim Gunn classics.
This Thanksgiving, we aren’t going home. It is going to be just us two…well three with Klaus! We didn’t go home for Christmas last year, therefore cooked our own Christmas dinner. This year I’m looking forward to cooking some good eats for Thanksgiving. When we started to discuss our menu, the husband reminded me how much he loves fried turkey. At the mention of doing it ourselves, my heart immediately jumped in my throat and I exclamed “NO WAY!” Hey, I’ve seen the fire videos and they terrify me.
Here is the husbands favorite Food Network personality….dun DUN dun DUNNNNNN-Alton Brown! He is going to show us a turkey fryer fire, and how to avoid one.
I may be letting my nerd colors shine through, but I love The Totally Rad Show. TRS is a podcast in which these three dudes discuss movies, television shows, video games, and comics. The husband and I have good times gathered round ye olde computador and listening to these guys talk about pop culture. The three dudes are
Dan Trachtenberg
I rarely agree with his opinions and he is usually getting on my nerves. They each get their own little section to lead and his is the movie section – my favorite. So he does the most talking during my favorite segment and it really bothers me.
Alex Albrecht
is….totally rad…nuff said. No really he’s dang funny and his laugh is contagious.
Jeff Cannata
When this guy starts talking, you will see me get very quiet and really concentrate on the show. As in stop typing on the computer/surfing the web/editing pictures. His opinion is almost always the same as my opinion, so if he says he liked something I want to know!
What do I have in from netflix right now? Season one of Clarissa Explains It All. Thats right, I’m takin it back old school. I loved that freaking show! Even if the show were total crap (which is wasn’t) it would have been worth it just to tune in and see her outfits!
Leggings with everything, Chucks, Doc Martens, and peace signs.
Watching this made me think of other T.V. characters whom I thought were the coolest and envied their wardrobes, even at six years old.
Punky Brewster – Rainbow colors, awesome tennis shoes, both she and Clarissa Darling share the mix and match gene.
Rhoda Morgenstern – Boho Chic. Yes, I was an odd child, I loved classic television. My favorites were Taxi, The Dick Van Dyke Show, Mary Tyler Moore, and Mork and Mindy.
The husband DVRd this show starting on ABC called Modern Family. I was don’t do ABC, so I was skeptical. But I gotta tell ya, it was pretty good.
I was surprised, pleased, and excited to see that one of the families on the show is a gay couple who have just adopted a baby. Keepin it real and very appropriate for a show called Modern Family!
Here they are introducing their new baby to the fam. Classic.
