The 20 Something Society

We're going to make it after all.

Hair

Hair.

The last time I dyed my hair was in 2008.  When I did it, I told myself that I was going to try my darndest to never dye it again.  I don’t want to fry it, I get highly irritated during the ‘growing the color out’ period, and I really do like my natural color.  The only reason I used to dye it sometimes was for a change.  So now whenever I want a change, all I can do is cut it off, grow it out, cut it off, grow it out…etc.

I guess its time for a change because I’ve been feeling that urge to grow it out.  I’m thinking a textured bob with bangs again.  Like-a dis.

Then I’ll probably keep it for a few months and chop it off again!

Thought I’d post a super casual clothesline for you guys.  This is one of my absolute favorite shirts.  Denim striped conductors shirt from the gap.  LOOOOOOVE.  Might not be the most spectacularly flattering thing but whatevs.  Also debuting the new haircut.  I went with a little shorter.  Thoughts?

Haircut.

Don’t you just hate when your hair gets to that in between length.  Its no longer your hair style – but also not grown out.  Thats where mine is right now.  Time to do something.  I’ve been debating whether to get the same cut, cut it a little shorter than I usually do, or grow it out a little.

The Usual.

A little shorter.

A little longer.

Today I was straightening the kitchen some and decided to take my Cafe Du Monde coffee can out for a little photo shoot.  We bought this on our honeymoon trip to New Orleans!  I have been wanting to go back ever since – maybe next summer….  This summer we are planning on going to visit my mom at the beach and to Atlanta.

While I was daydreaming about New Orleans I dug up some new orleans and saints centric stuff from the files.

Its here folks.  Awards season.  To quote Ryan Seacrest – “the superbowl of the entertainment industry.”  I LOVE it!  But…not necessarily so I can cheer for whomever I believe deserves each award – I’m more interested in the pre show red carpet footage!  WHAT ARE THEY WEARING?  I have to say so far this season I’ve been pretty underwhelmed.

Admittedly I didnt catch all of the Critics Choice awards – but these are the only dresses that really caught my attention.

Annette Benning and a pregnant Natalie Portman

and Emma Stone.

Now.  Tonight was the Golden Globes.  This is where you can really go all out and glam it up!  But The first half of the red carpet footage seemed to blahhhh.

Here are my pics for the Golden Globe dresses.

Angelina Jolie

Anne Hathaway

Emma Stone – the color was much brighter on screen.

Julia Stiles

Leighton Meester

Mandy Moore

Now – I dont usually go for poufy princess sort dresses – but I think this is actually the only dress that made me go WOW THATS GORGEOUS!

Sandy.

Who were your favorites?

My newest love.

Yep – el cheapo shampoo smells SOOOOO GOOD!  They have a couple of new scents – I love each of them.  But the rosemary and mint is my idea of perfection.  It’s going to be hard for me to restrain myself from asking everyone to smell my hair tomorrow.  When you go grocery shopping this week you should give it a whiff.

Oh – and on a side note you just got a teeny tiny peek into our bathroom redo!

The new issue of Southern Weddings magazine is out!  WOOT.  If you are a newly engaged bride and are looking for inspiration this is one of my favorite sources.  Follow their blog! The Southern Weddings Daily Blog

I love the cover girl!  Her little squiggly braid is the cutest!

Hair Chop.

I chopped my hair off.  I love it.  You may not.  I still do.

P.S.

Immediately after sharing the last post I stumbled across this picture and again started rethinking my long/short hair.

I’m sure I will still go with the short because it is easier.

P.S.S  This picture was a top contender for my wedding hair.  I was going for boho.  Ended up with a french twist or whatever its called.

Haircut Time.

Yes folks its about that time.  I’m past due for a haircut.  When it came to “I need a haircut” time, I decided to just let it grow and see if I want to grow it back out or not.  Well, after a couple of months of growing I think I’ve decided on not.  Long hair takes longer to fix, longer to dry, is hotter, and clogs the drain.

I think I’ve decided on this cut.
