The 20 Something Society

We're going to make it after all.

So my body has gotten used to my regular workout routine, and though I was still exercising every day (thats right, I rarely would take a rest day even!) I wasnt seeing anymore results and some pounds were very slowly creeping back.  So one early weekend morning I turned on the TV and the informercial for Tracy Andersons Metamorphosis was on.  I didnt change the channel while I made my coffee.  It sucked me in.  I have decided to give it a try and am on day 8.  I am LOVING it.  For me if I am excited about something and get my mind set on it, then I’m going to see it through, and I have definitely been in obsessed mode with these workouts.  I am DRIPPING sweat when I am done.  There is a 30 minute dance cardio which I didnt think I would like because I dont usually like dance cardios at all, but I have really been liking this one.  I have to say that I have been making my own workout playlists instead of listening to what she has playing.  If a song comes on that I like while I’m out or around the house I find myself automatically doing some of the dance cardio moves around.  Then after that there is 30 minutes of structured exercise.

What I really like about it is that the structured exercise portion changes after every 10 days.  It is really keeping me motivated to just get to that tenth day so I can measure myself and start the next segment.  I’m curious to see what lies ahead.

I took pictures of myself and measurements before I started, and I plan on taking pictures and measurements after I’m done with each 10 day workout.  Just being honest, probably won’t share the pics here but maybe the measurements.  She has you weigh yourself every day and I have lost 3 pounds.  READY FOR THURSDAY so I can measure!!

Monday.

So.  Today is Monday, which for me means only one thing….PERSONAL TRAINER SESSION.  At the very end of our session this morning she walks away saying “hold on just a sec let me grab something.”  She comes back with one of these.

Remember these?!  I could feel the smile spreading across my face after I saw it.  Thats called nostalgia.  Seeing that thing made me immediately think about PE in elementary school.  Good times.  Simpler days when all you had to worry about was a little boy named Paul chasing you around the playground trying to wipe a booger on you.

Not only is it fun , and brings back good times, but it is a good little workout too.

Since I’ve joined the local gym I’ve tried something new.  Running on the treadmill.  I’ve done a lot on the elliptical – but thought I’d add in some treadmill.  I’ve always seen joggers and runners going by in the mornings as I’m driving in my car and held them in high regard.  I’ve always thought of the strength and endurance these folks must have.  I didn’t think I’d like the treadmill but my personal trainer suggested I run it everyday I come in to the gym.  I was kind of intimidated by it.  I mean, if I stop running the thing keeps going ay?  Surprisingly I really like it.  Today I showed up at the gym at my usual time for my training session and she suggested we take it outside and run around the shopping center.  I was excited to try and run for the first time outside – NOT on the treadmill with an iPod and a tv in front of me.  I did it – without stopping for any breaks or even dying.  (haha)  I need some new tennies.  Any suggestions?
