Is it odd to say that watching Rosemarys Baby is like a breath of fresh air to me.
This is my favorite version of the book cover….maybe because its the one I had? An old Copy I found at a used book store, The Book Nook, in my home town. I miss that place.
I’m reading that HBO is planning on doing a pilot for a series based on the Pamela Des Barres book I’m With the Band: Confessions of a Groupie and that my girl Zooey is going to star. I don’t know if its true or not, but it sounds like a match made in heaven.
I have been running on the elliptical and watching Little Women. The 1994 version with Wynona.
I was nine when it came out. I bought it on VHS and watched it over and over. I loved Jo. (strong female lead! Ha!) “Well, of course Aunt March prefers Amy over me. Why shouldn’t she? I’m ugly and awkward and I always say the wrong things. I fly around throwing away perfectly good marriage proposals. I love our home, but I’m just so fitful and I can’t stand being here! I’m sorry, I’m sorry Marmee. There’s just something really wrong with me. I want to change, but I – I can’t. And I just know I’ll never fit in anywhere.”
Can you believe that I have never read the book? I know I can’t. After I am finished reading Stephen Kings Skeleton Crew and Patricia Cornwells Portrait of a Killer: Jack the Ripper I should go snag a copy.
Vintage Christian Bale from this movie. Even at nine I loved Christian Bale.
I always despised Laurie for macking on Amy. How despicable.
The movie looks good, but even just from the beginning of the book and the preview the book is better. But that is ninety nine percent of the time I guess.
My mother- in -law and sister- in- law are here for the weekend to stay with us! They brought with them a housewarming present from my Granny and Grandaddy. It was a Keurig One Cup Coffee Maker! The husband loves these things because he can make cups of hot tea, and I will use it mainly for hot cocoa.
We love it! Thanks Granny and Grandaddy!
I’ve started reading The Lovely Bones and it is really really good so far. I recommend.
I was just admiring my favorite mugshot this evening….
…Awesome….when I decided to look up some more vintage mugshots. I stumbled upon many pictures from a book called City Of Shadows: Sydney Police Photographs 1912-1948. There were some beautiful photographs, I think these vintage mugshots have inspired me to do some like them for some of my portrait sessions.
This one was in my saved materials, I dont remember where it came from but I also find this one beautiful.
P.S. I once wrote a paper in college on photography in the criminal justice system, much of which was on the beginnings of mug shots, the rogue galleries!
