Vintage Illustration.

I stumbled across this invite somewhere sometime ago and saved it to my documents where i recently stumbled upon it again.

How could you not go to this party?  Anyway, this invite immediately makes me think of my grandmothers old Jubilee cookbooks.  Even when I was a little girl I liked to look through them and look at the illustrations.  They looked much like this invite.  I can’t find any Jubilee images on the googles!  And my Grannys cookbooks are in her pantry five and a half hours away.  Maybe next time I go down to visit I can do some scanning for you guys.

Some Of Todays Errands.

This morning I was lucky enough to spend a couple of hours in Target, getting some props and whatnot for a couple of upcoming shoots.  Here is a sneak peek of some of the things I bought.  Not actual product images but dang close.

I was there around lunch time, so I went to the deli area to peruse the archer farmes ready made lunches.  After much deliberation, I decided upon an option that looked a little like this.

cheeseandcrackers

salami

grapes2This was the most perfect lunch ever.  I gotta say.  I had never eaten salami before and I thoroughly enjoyed it.  I even called the husband – “Hey babe, whatch doin?  Oh really?  SALAMIS GOOD!”

Rosemary.

Is it odd to say that watching Rosemarys Baby is like a breath of fresh air to me.

This is my favorite version of the book cover….maybe because its the one I had?  An old Copy I found at a used book store, The Book Nook, in my home town.  I miss that place.

Color Coded.

We color coded our bookshelf.  I am so over the shelves themselves I want some new ones.  White or silver metal.  Any suggestions?

I took a picture of my favorite book in each little shelf.  Here is the first one.

Whoa. Excited.

I’m reading that HBO is planning on doing a pilot for a series based on the Pamela Des Barres book I’m With the Band: Confessions of a Groupie and that my girl Zooey is going to star.  I don’t know if its true or not, but it sounds like a match made in heaven.

Little Women.

I have been running on the elliptical and watching Little Women.  The 1994 version with Wynona.

little womenI was nine when it came out.  I bought it on VHS and watched it over and over.  I loved Jo.  (strong female lead! Ha!) “Well, of course Aunt March prefers Amy over me. Why shouldn’t she? I’m ugly and awkward and I always say the wrong things. I fly around throwing away perfectly good marriage proposals. I love our home, but I’m just so fitful and I can’t stand being here! I’m sorry, I’m sorry Marmee. There’s just something really wrong with me. I want to change, but I – I can’t. And I just know I’ll never fit in anywhere.”

Can you believe that I have never read the book?  I know I can’t.  After I am finished reading Stephen Kings Skeleton Crew and Patricia Cornwells Portrait of a Killer: Jack the Ripper I should go snag a copy.

Vintage Christian Bale from this movie.  Even at nine I loved Christian Bale.

I always despised Laurie for macking on Amy.  How despicable.
