You know how a lot of ‘local’ magazines aren’t necessarily the greatest? Well my hometown magazine – Mobile Bay Magazine- is pretty dang awesome. The difference is the quality of their work. I had my first manicure this week, at 27. I didn’t even have my nails done for prom or my wedding day! I used to think those nail tools looked quite scary, which is what kept me away when I was younger. As I got older I didn’t like the idea of having chemicals and polish on my nails very frequently. I just decided to have pretty nails for valentines day this year.
I went with silver sparkles.
I’m not the girly girly type. Don’t get me wrong. I love sparkles. I love dresses. I DONT love makeup. I’ll wear a little. Sometimes. Also – I DONT love nails. I do not even paint my fingernails, though I usually have my toes painted. For some reason I always thought my fingers looked strange with painted nails. I didn’t even paint them for prom and my wedding. I take that back – I did put a clear coat on them.
But lately, for some strange unknown reason, I have been wanting to get a mani/pedi. My FIRST mani/pedi.
What should I go with?
I’m thinking black with some gold sparkle or rose gold with sparkle…
If you ask me, we are going to be seeing a lot of burgundy this fall.
No. Not him.
There we go, thats more like. More burgundy in fall fashion this year. In particular, burgundy lips are going to be IT lip color!
I think I’m brave enough to try it out.
Today I didn’t go anywhere special. Just to run an errand to staples pretty much. Todd wasn’t here to photograph my outfit so I photographed the cloche I wore. I spotted this hat while I was out holiday shopping this year. I was at Marshalls and it called to me from the hat rack – I had walked into the store that day telling myself ” I will not spend ANY money on me!” but when I saw this hat I had to have it. The tag inside reads Madison 88.

So. I have these Ray Bans and I’m wanting to get some prescription lenses put in them but I wanted to make sure you guys like them on me first. As you can tell by the dust around the lenses they have been laying in my vanity tray looking pretty for quite a long while now.

I have been wanting to throw a Marie Antoinette party for years. When is was wedding planning I even seriously thought about having a Sofia Coppolas Marie Antoinette vibe. This morning I was catching up on sToribook weddings ( I am slightly obsessed with Tori and Dean) and there was a Marie Antoinette themed wedding that was so awesome. Got me to dreaming about my possibly one day party again. But there are two distinctly different versions…

I don’t know if any of you have given any thought at all to Halloween 2011. But I know I am pumped and as of right now am planning to do a Black Swan costume. OH yeah.
