Today I was straightening the kitchen some and decided to take my Cafe Du Monde coffee can out for a little photo shoot. We bought this on our honeymoon trip to New Orleans! I have been wanting to go back ever since – maybe next summer…. This summer we are planning on going to visit my mom at the beach and to Atlanta.
While I was daydreaming about New Orleans I dug up some new orleans and saints centric stuff from the files.

I’ve been looking around town – and finally have found a dance studio that offers beginners adult tap lessons. Yes, you too can strap on some tippy tappy shoes and attempt to dance your butt off with other adults who arent already dancers. Believe it or not it isnt so easy – most places are only teaching kids. Its understandable. There probably aren’t a ton of adults who actually have the chance to pick up and try new things when they want. Or maybe they just don’t make it a priority.
I’ve always loved musicals and plays – and wanted to go try out and participate. But never quite found the means and the guts. I still want to – now that I have more of the means and guts – I dont have much of the time. But sometimes I hear about our local playhouses hosting auditions and really want to go. But never do. I don’t have any experience or confidence to perform in front of a crowd. Maybe I could build up to it though. Adult tap classes are forty five minutes once a week. I can make time for that right? If we don’t do things while we’re young we’ll never do it and always think what if. Hey, maybe I could even make some friends there.
It all seems good and fine but there is still part of my brain saying “Don’t you have enough to do.”
I just sent an email to a local studio asking questions – I think I’m going to do it! Fashion minded me is already thinking – what shall I wear?!
One of my favorite Christmas movies is The Family Stone. A bit more sadness and less ho ho ho jingle bells – but I love it. There is a scene in the movie in which one of the characters is explaining a dream he had about another and it is my favorite part of the movie.
“You were shoveling snow. You were just a little girl in a flannel night gown and you were shoveling snow from the walk in front of out house. And I was the snow. I was the snow, everywhere it landed, everything it covered, you’d scoop me up. With a big red shovel, you’d scoop me up.”
I was going through my inspiration files and stumbled upon these next pictures. I can’t recall where they came from but if I am remembering correctly they are from a real wedding – the photos were just inverted to make the funky zombie apocalypse coloring. Anyways I think they are quite mesmerizing.
A couple of zombie wedding ideas for you.
I remember when I was a child of 19, watching Carmen Electra and Dave Navarros MTV reality show Till Death Do Us Part. The show documented their time together planning their wedding and whatnot. They did a little photoshoot for their save the dates with a till death do us part morgue them which is the only thing I remember from that show because I thought it was really sweet. Jacquelyn Jackson Photography just may do an engagement session spin on this idea….

So, to bring up Harry Potter again. I was always into the movies – never read the books (somehow, even though I’m a reader). All of a sudden I just feel like I HAVE to read the books. I guess its the realization setting in that before too long there will be no more movies….its the only way to get my fix. I can’t wait to begin reading these books. P.S. I want a Harry Potter tattoo.
